Learning to drive an automatic car

It is a common misconception that driving an automatic car is easier than a manual. While it’s true in respect of there being less gear control, statistics show otherwise with the pass rate being lower than that of manual tests. We strongly believe that this is due to poorly trained instructors off-setting the understanding that it is easier to drive an automatic car, however, not actually teaching a student how to drive any car safely.

When a learner begins taking driving lessons, the first thing they are taught is the basics of manoeuvring, as this is the only way to get the car going from one destination to another. There is minimal difference between an automatic and manual car in this respect. However, the bulk of lessons will be how to get from one destination to another with multiple obstacles, safely. That is no different with automatic driving lessons.

Below you’ll find an exhaustive list of skills and techniques we help you master, with an automatic car or a manual car.
